         continuing-orientation program for freshman.

         Where does each of you stand on that?

         >> Well, I'm in favor of all of<br/>
         the initiatives we've been discussing,

         because I think all of them will help<br/>
         solve some student-retention problems.

         I mean, if we go straight down our list,

         an orientation program that<br/>
         extended into the first semester

         would build in a support<br/>
         group for freshmen,                                                                                                           
       </p>
      <p begin="00:00:37.49" end="00:00:40.29" style="1">                                      
         and remind them of the help that's there<br/>
         when they really do need it.                                                                                                           
       </p>

         Extending the services<br/>
         at the Bursar's Office                                                                                                           
       </p>
      <p begin="00:00:42.24" end="00:00:44.92" style="1">                                      
         to include a crisis loan service<br/>
         would help out those students                                                                                                           
       </p>
      <p begin="00:00:44.92" end="00:00:46.88" style="1">                                      
         who have temporary<br/>
         money problems.                                                                                                           
       </p>

         And the crisis hotline for stressed-out students<br/>
         is another cost-effective idea,                                                                                                           
       </p>

         and I'm really kind of surprised<br/>
         that a university of this size,                                                                                                           
       </p>

         with as many non-traditional<br/>
