last minute to establish a work agenda.
I'm sure the new committee will want
to add some issues to the list,
but an agenda will get us
organized and started right.
So, Lauren, do you mind if I try
a problem census to build an agenda?
>> That's great.
Go for it.
>> Okay.
Everybody think of things that this committee
should work on next year --
things we weren't able
to get to this year.
Then we'll prioritize them, and --
I'll list them first, then we'll prioritize them.
Let's just go round-robin
until we've listed everything.

Well, we assume that the daycare center
is going to be approved and funded,
and the university is supposed to
provide us with a part-time staff person.
But we still need to write a description
of that person's duties and responsibilities.
>> We never got around to most of the student
activities that we usually do every year,
so we need to make sure
and do that next year.
>> I think we were also
going to review the system
of electing campus
judicial-board representatives.
>> I've got one.
Homecoming was a real bust this year.
No one knew about it until too late.
So I'd like to see earlier planning
and publicity for homecoming.
Lynn, you're up again.
>> Okay.
Non-traditional students
still have problems with registration times.
Students have to register in person,
and there's only a limited number of times
when the registrars and the advisors
meet in the evenings.
I'd like to see the concerns
of non-traditional students addressed better.
>> So, is this item "attention to concerns of
non-traditional students"?
>> No, more like expanded opportunities
for registration for non-traditional students.
>> Okay.
>> Maybe allowing for phone registration.
>> Anybody else?
>> No, but look at number three.
Election procedures for
student representatives.
Lauren, I may be wrong,
but didn't student government set up a committee
to review student senate bylaws?
Wouldn't that include
stuff like this?
>> You're right.
I forgot.
Brad, you can go ahead
and cross that off the list.

Well, let's put these in
some sort of priority order.
Do you want to vote, or would you
rather talk about them some more?
>> I'd like to talk
about them for just a bit.
We're fairly certain that
the daycare center will be approved,
and we'd like it to be up
and running by fall.
Given that, think that should be
at the top of our priority list.
>> Okay.
By that same reasoning,
homecoming happens to be in November,
so we should plan
for that early, too.
>> Yeah.
>> Number two?
>> Sure.
And there's no urgency about
the student-activities survey,
and we can use last year's
survey to get started,
so I suggest we put that last,
and move the non-traditional
issue to third.
It'll probably take a while to resolve,
so we should get started on it early in the fall.
>> Good idea.

Since I'm the chair next year,
this will be my work plan for the committee.
